This 1971Mustangis what I like to call a gentleman's Coupe. It's got all the looks of a muscle car but somehowhas an understated class to it. It's a really nice driver with showing quality for a few reasons, it's got an interestingprovidence as the Marty Vin report shows it's one of only 51 with the ginger interior and green exterior. It was a special order car and when you consider the other special options like seat spring delete it truly is a 1 of 1 in this exact trim which makes it an interesting conversation piece.
The car comes with extensive documentation like books, brochures and more.
The Paint:RUST FREE (Even the trunk is pristine)I was told that it's mostly original but was wet sanded and clear coated. That'sbelievablelooking at the factory stickers in the trunk. She's a looker and shines up really nice. It is a 50 year old car so there are signs of age here and there but it's definitely one of the nicest examples of this model I have ever seen.
The Engine: It's a 302 with an Edelbrock Street Performance aluminumintake and Holley 650 4barrel. It's got a free flowing chrome air cleaneron it but I will include all the stock equipment to return it to original. It starts very easily, hot or cold and the car runs great. I would not hesitate to drive it across the countrytomorrow. This is a well preserved running and driving car.
Rear suspension: Totally redone with less than1000 miles. The rebuild included new heavy duty leafs and traction bars for a hooking up off the line and a cool 70's period correct vibe.
Front Suspension: It's all working fine but with the sale I will include $3000 in brand new front suspension parts with everything from new a-arms to gas shocks and performancebushings.
The Interior: Frankly it's gorgeous with very little wear, a nice color matched aftermarket console is removable. The Radio is VintageCustom Audio and bluetooth enabled so you can play music from your phone. There are few flaws again. It's a beautiful survivor but also a 50 year old car. There is a speaker cover and some trim noy well attached on the driver door and a barely noticeable tear in piping on the driver's seat that no one notices unless I point it out. The horn button does not work but the horns under the hood are present and functional.
Under Body: It's a Tennessee car and it's all original steel and very clean under there.
Wheels & Tires: Brand new American Racing Wheels with BF Goodrich TA tires
Running: The car runs, rides and stops like it should but could benefit from carb tuning by a pro for a pinch more performanceif you are super picky.
Extra Parts: I have taller gearing, all the original air cleaner and manifold stuff, spare steering wheel, numerous maintenanceitems, full front suspension, transmission shift kit, manuals and other bits all go with the car.
All in all this is a rare interesting coupe with a super neat build sheet and marty report to go with it. I'm proud of it and the description is fair and thorough. I'd say it's a show car you can drive, in fact it was my daily driver for many summers.
