Brief History:

I am listing this 1977 VW Westy for my dad. All questions should be addressed to him

This is a southern bus. It was sold on 1/28/80 by Perry Volkswagen of Rocky Mount, NC, for

$ 6,520.50. At this time it had 20,374 miles. My father bought if from a private seller in Carrolton, GA, in 7/27/06 for $ 5,000.00. The odometer reading then was 84,617. The bus is located in Columbus, NC, and has been regularly serviced by local VW shops. A record of major expenses has been kept in a notebook by previous owners.

Recent Work:

A rebuilt Rancho transmission was installed by Asheville Vee Dub about two years ago. Four

8-ply Yokohama 185 R 14 tires were purchased on 5/01/08 for $ 353.80. Body restoration cost

$ 2,825.50 (1/26/10) and painting cost $ 3,486.62 (2/2/10). Out-of-frame engine overhaul and exhaust work cost $ 3,486.62 and was completed on 5-30-12. Receipts are available when exact

prices are listed. The bus runs great.

The paint shop inadvertently filled in and painted over the vertical seams on both sides at the rear of the bus (see pics). The windows and windshield were removed during restoration.
