Description:

1983 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Priced down from $12,000. I just installed a bamboo panel for the sliding door and I have replaced the sliding door lock with a newer version. $10,000 OBO. Priced to sell. I have 3 cars and 4 vans at a townhouse. Rust free, VW Vanagon - 1.9 Diesel swap with a proper veggie oil system. This Vanagon is from Washington, hence the no rust, and I replaced the transaxle while there with a rebuilt DK transaxle, which is a quite rare transaxle that has a preferred gear ratio for the diesel swap. The clutch was replaced 12,000 miles before the trans swap. The veggie oil system has heated fuel lines and additional heated veggie oil tank in the rear. The veggie oil swap in properly done with the ability to purge the fuel system and swap between fuels with a toggle switch. This basically doubles your range to allow you to venture further out. This is a 4-speed manual transmission. I am more than willing to provide tech help with maintenance and I am willing to teach somebody to drive a manual if purchased. I replaced the rear engine hatch gasket and rear hatch gasket. The body is not perfect, with a few small dents, but with a decent paint job, this vehicle would be perfect. I am open to offers, so let me know. The body has 240,000 miles on it but less on the engine. The van comes with a plethora of paperwork and a crazy story. This van was used in an anti-war display when a man, not the owner, drove it through the front gate of a military base. There is a canvas painting that will come with the van made by the van's previous owner that dates the van's events. The reason I am selling is that I currently have 4 and am swapping a diesel into another van.
