1973 Volkswagen Type181 Thing. This is a ready to enjoy beach, vacation or weekend car. This VW Thing is rust free throughout, and runs and drives great. It has the standard 1600 CC VW motor with a twin carburetor setup that was professionally installed. The engine does not smoke or leak, and runs very good. A tune up including new plugs. distributor cap, point, rotor and wires was done less than 300 miles ago. All the lights work perfectly, the speedometer and fuel gauge work as new. The clutch doesn't slip and the transmission shifts very smoothly. The heater and defroster fan works with the OEM timed switch and knob. There is the original 1973 only high powered gas heater that has been tested and seems to be functioning, but fuel line has been disconnected for safety reasons. The tires are modern radials and have less than 1000 miles on them. The brakes function as expected with no know issues. The electric wipers work. There are no rips or wear in either front or rear seats. The hood latch works like new. There is an integrated Kicker Bluetooth receiver mounted in the dash with two front speakers. This Type 181 was painted about 6 years ago and shows no rust on its body panels or underneath. The front windshield has no cracks or damage. This includes a rare hardtop, and new side curtain windows. Also included is a bikini top. There is a seven point full roll cage. This is not a concours vintage VW Thing, but its an excellent and fun driver in great overall condition. I get massive attention whenever I drive this.

The mileage is believed to be accurate at 52,283. There is also an almost new performance exhaust on the Thing as well as all service and technical manuals and some extra parts.
