Description:

1968 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

1968 VW Bay Window Single Cab double cargo door Bus
Up for sale is my 1968 Single Cab which is pretty much all new from the ground up.
Chassis:New floors from front to back including new bed floors and klassic Fab bed gates. Bus has treasure chest doors on both sides.
Suspension.New 4" narrowed beam with 2.5 drop spindles and disk brake upgrade with Wilwood calipers up front. Horseshoe plates and adjustable spring plates in the rear. 15" early bus smoothie wheels are also on the bus. All new brakes, brake pads, cables, all adjusted and working properly with Wilwood front calipers it stops great compared to old drum brakes. All new Continental tires all around.
Electrical:All new wiring harness from Wolfsburg west, new fixtures and led headlights from Vintage LEDs. All lights, brakes and turn signals work as they should.
Power train:Brand new 0 mile 1914 crate engine with dual Weber 40 idf carbs hooked to a all new freeway flyer transmission. Vintage speed hidden exhaust. All new axles also. It really has great power to push it down the road.
We replaced all rusty areas with new metal and most exterior metal is original metal besides the gates. We used raptor bedliner in bed and lower cargo area so both would be useable. Bus is very low so we used an almost 2" tub in front which causes front seat to set 2" higher than normal. They were done by a local Fab shop and look factory if you didn't know to look for them. All new interior including headliner. All new window and door seals throughout. I have replaced every part that needed it.
Exterior is painted a factory blue VW color for the time period which is Neptune blue. It is a base coat clear coat lesonal paint with 4 or 5 coats or color and 4 or 5 coats of clear. Bus really has a great look and was very well received at the Charlotte Transporter Show in May.
In summary the bus starts right up, runs great, stops great, all lights work, really is a great piece as early bay window busses are almost impossible to find in this condition that can be driven home and win a trophy at any car show. I have been involved in every phase of this bus over the last couple years so I can answer any question and have a picture from most every phase of the restoration call or text chad 82871277six1 maybe we can make a deal!
