A complete mechanical overhaul and cosmetic refresh was done including new leather, new carpets and headliner which were showing their age. The current owner then got transferred overseas, and the car has sat covered in a climate controlled storage facility for the past 5 years. It was recently out on the road this Sept 2023, when it pulled strong and drove beautifully.

Highlights:

• The E24 6 Series, or "Sharknose" as it's dubbed by enthusiasts, was the successor to the famed E9 BMW 3.0 CSi. Lauded by BMW fans as an icon of the 1980s, the first 6 Series was produced from 1977 until 1989 with the range-topping M6 becoming available from 1987; production ended in 1989. The e24 is believed by many to be one of the best looking car BMW has ever designed, well sorted examples have increased substantially in value over the past several years.
• Power comes from a 3.5-liter M30 inline-6 engine, rated at approximately 215 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 229 lb-ft of torque in stock form. This engine remains stock and still pulls strong up the hills, though a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
• Modifications reported by the seller include the much more attractive "8-series" 16-inch BBS wheels, an alcantara BMW M-series chunky 3-spoke steering wheel, and a Parrot Audio Android-Auto head unit.
• The attached Carfax history report starts when the car was imported to the USA in 1991 and shows no accidents or gaps for the given time period. It also shows that this 635csi was registered in Florida, where it remained in the hands of one owner, until the current owner bought in 2011 bringing the car to New Jersey where it underwent a full restoration.
• Factory equipment includes a sunroof, rear spoiler, power windows and door locks, leather upholstery, an on-board computer, and air conditioning with rear climate vents.

• HVAC - one control knob has fallen off
