Description:

1971 Pontiac Firebird

1971 Pontiac Firebird Esprit – 98% ORIGINALSURVIVOR! 93,800 well cared for miles

Someone please save this car. I recently purchased this car to build a Formula Clone/restomod, but it is just too nice of an original survivor to modify. My friends say I’d be a fool to modify this car so here is your chance to save it.They are only original once! The only modification to the car is dual exhaust.(aside from tires, radio and tune up items)

History:

This was ordered by Capt. David T Hafner US Navy in 1970. He lived in falls church and the car was purchased locally. I have the warranty card, manual and protect-o-plate.David owned the car until he passed away in February of 2004. The car was always garage kept and his wife cared for the car until she passed away in July of 2008. Both are buried in Arlington Cemetery. Their daughter inherited the car and sold itin September 2009 to a nice couple in Arlington who showed the car in multiple “survivor”car shows up until when I purchased the car.

The Car:

No Power Brakes but disk on the front

Mileage is deemed to be correct. The car was titled in the wife’s name in 1996 that shows 39,000 and transferred to the guy I purchased from kept detailed records. The car has some bumps and bruises but overall is in excellent condition. The only rust is minimal on the passengers rear quarter panel. Some bubbling is starting on the drivers and a little bubble under the vinyl top. There is no structural rust anywhere else on the car only light surface corrosion. The car runs and drives nice. The AC compressor turns on and spins, but the interior fan doesn’t work. I have not looked into it since I just got it. I tried to get as many photos as possible. I’m only running this auction once as a deciding factor on building it into a resto-mod/pro-touring car or letting someone else enjoy it the way it is.Help me decide! I live 10 min from Dulles Airport and can provide transportation to and from the airport if you want to come inspect the car.
