1966 LAND ROVER SERIES IIA CLASSIC 4X4 CONVERTIBLE FOR SALE

I bought this as my “Dream Truck”, I watched a lot of African safari movies growing up. I envisioned, setting up my tent, hearing the lions and hyenas. But alas age and too many vehicular projects have caught up with me. I have to let it pass on to the next visionary, to put it back together and drive it over the vastness of Africa without me at the wheel, with my H&H double rifle at my side. OR, pulling up at Starbucks with the top off in Beverly Hills and people wondering if I was a rich and famous movie star just getting back from an African safari.

I don’t have a lot of info on it, this is the first Land Rover I have ever owned. I bought it here in Arizona from a rancher who said he had “clutch problems” he pulled it apart and never put it back together. I bought it the way you see it now. It appears to have spent most of it’s life in Arizona judging by the stickers on the back. The good thing about these are most parts body parts are aluminum and they completely unbolt. It also has the Safari Top or you can pull off the entire top for a convertible. Parts are very available and Land Rover Nerds have clubs where they swap parts, or sell at a very reasonable price and free info. The Land Rover groups had a rear end for $200 and seatsfor $60. It has been sitting for about 8 years. The serial or vin# is 24419226B for research and the odometer reads 07962. The title says 0100001, obviously a misprint because the odometer doesn’t have enough spaces for that number.

So you have to make your own determinations on what you are buying and it’s condition from the photos and the You Tube video.I do not know the gear ratio or if it has any Posi. I turned the engine over when I first got it to make sure it wasn’t froze up. It still has the 16 inch rims which is unique to see still on one.It’s a 4 cylinder, with manual transmission. Not pictured was the gas tank in the parts photos but it comes with the truck. You can see the major parts and then there are two containers of smaller parts. I also have the missing top glass still in a package and the other side glass. The tire on the hood was just for showing that the spare goes up there but the spare (example spare) does not come included with the truck.
