Description:

1972 Plymouth Fury

You are bidding on a 1972 Plymouth Fury 6 passenger Custom Suburban Station Wagon. This car runs and drives very well, and has had lots of recent work done. But, it has only been driven short distances in town since the engine and transmission were installed, it ha snot been out on the highway or driven long distance yet. You might be able to drive it cross country with no problem. Or maybe not! This car is originally from the Seattle, WA area and does not have A/C. Car has some rust areas and has been re-painted at some point in base coat/clear coat, but could use a new paint job. Spare tire well and cargo compartment have been patched at some point. Engine is a '72 block with roughly 20,000 miles on a rebuild, then freshened up. Engine specs as follows;
Block bored .030", has .001" bore wear on that. New parts include; rod bearings (mains looked great), Cloyes timing set, Edelbrock Performer cam and lifters, oil, fuel and water pumps, distributor cap, rotor, wires and plugs, belts, hoses, radiator, thermostat, alternator, fan belts, motor mounts and all gaskets and seals. Carb is rebuilt, air filter element is new. Emissions equipment is still in place if you wish to hook it back up. Tires have no wear.
Other new items include hard to find heater core, carpet, master cylinder, battery, NOS back up lights and some ball joints and other parts to rebuild the front suspension. Transmission has been rebuilt and the torque converter is new. Also comes with straight front bumper with bumper guards, front valance, build sheet and some groovy floral 70s era front floor mats! There is also some extra exterior trim, stock radio (condition unknown), and a CD player that the previous owner was going to install.
Now for the bad!Needs a headliner (badly!).Dash is cracked and has been patched, front seats have had inserts replaced. Back seats are nice.Steering box is leaking, probably needs a new one.Lots of little bugs to be worked out, but a cool old wagon you can drive while fixing up. Light, wipers, turn signals, flashers work, but some of the sockets need to be cleaned or replaced.
Overall, this is a very solid car in great shape for it's age, drivable as is, but a great candidate for a restoration or custom cruiser! If big block power is more your thing, I have 440, 400 and 383 cores available for purchase. Drive the car while you build a new powerhouse engine! Please ask any questions before bidding, Good luck!
