I know that all sellers try to hype and 'talk up' the vehicles they are selling but this car really needs no elaboration or embellishment. I follow and seek out vehicles of this vintage and only buy lower mile, rust free southwest cars, that being said, I have really found an exceptional example of a late '80sCadillac Eldorado. This car has a pedigree unlike any I have never seen. It was sold and serviced by Penske Cadillac in Downey California (now located in Torrance), I left on the original CA tags with Penske plate frames as well as the Penske preferred decal on the windshield and the Penske gold service card decal under the hood, it is absolutely as it was delivered in 9/1988. Not only is it all original (aside from tires and battery), it is a 100% corrosion free, garaged southern California Caddy. It has NEVER been modified, no electronics, alarms, stereos or any 'performance parts', the windows have never even been tinted. Add to that, it comes with all original floor mats, trunk mat, jack and tools, owners books and three sets of gold-plated keys along with one factory keyless remote (as well as Penskelost key tags and one Cadillac Service key return tag). Now, aside from the original window sticker (which can be reprinted), it has absolutely everything you would get if you were at Roger Penske's Cadillac store in 1988, here's one thing you will almost NEVER get and that is the ORIGINAL 'pink slip'. That's right, I have the original pink slip (title) for this car from September of 1988, it is a documented and irrefutable one owner car, see the photo of it below. The photos below tell the story, please review the nearly 100 full sized, high-resolution pictures including several of the spotless undercarriage that prove the car's undamaged originality and that there is ZERO corrosion.
The body of the car is arrow straight and the Light Antelope Metallic finish is very striking, especially in the sun, the photos do not do the car justice. There are a very few blemishes on the car, the tiny left bumper cap on the rear bumper is cracked but is all there, front bumper caps (on the sides of the license plate) are slightly scuffed, there is a 1/4 of a dime-sized scuff on the front right where the headlight surround meets the fender, there are a very few stone ships up front and the tail lights each have a hairline fracture (still sealed, not broken). Other than that there are no dings, sents or scratches. There is no fading, the finish is rich and glossy, all chrome is gorgeous including the chrome 'bright-work' all around. All lights and lenses are intact and in good working order. Also worth mentioning, ALL 'fiber-optics' on the fenders (white-'head lights', amber-'turn signals' andblue-'high beam') are functional as well as the rear indicators inside the car above the inside rear window. The car is equipped with the 'soft-close' trunk which is functioning properly also. The white-walled tires are newer with 95% tread life remaining, all wheels are true and all wire wheel covers are intact and clean with one small scuff on the front right outside surround. All center caps are there and are nice, the car comes with the wire-wheel cover removal tool as well. Glass is impeccable and original, crystal clear all the way around.
The interior is incredible, the car was owned by a non-smoker so it has no tobacco, pet or musty odors, dare I say it still smells like new. All leather is supple and soft, no dryness, no discoloration or seam separation, it hardly shows any wear whatsoever. Headliner, visors (with operational vanity lighting) and carpets are all clean with no stains. Steering wheel leather is all intact and shows just minimal aging, no damage, dash, door panels, console etc are the nicest I have ever seen in this genre, all glove box, ashtray, console doors open and latch, no issues. Power seats, power windows, locks, A/C and gauges all appear to be fully operational. Stereo functions and sounds nice but the power antenna is not moving, I am including a replacement but I did not want to tamper with it, they are only original once!
Mechanically the car seems very solid. The engine starts up with no effort, it sounds strong and healthy with no lifter rattle, lower end noise or injector tap. Transmission shifts at the correct intervals and the car is just an absolute pleasure to drive, you will feel like you are back in the '90s, it has the proper Cadillac feel and comfort you remember, truly amazing. The car does not spew any smoke from the exhaust and has not exhibited any leaks while I have had it. There are no warning or 'check engine' lights on in the dash either.
Do not miss owning a collectible, affordable piece of automotive history. I have never seen one with this much going for it, sure, there are some lower mile cars (not likely this low), some rust free southern cars and some that come with most original equipment but nowhere are you going to find one with EVERY box checked AND the original pink slip (title). There is an '89 model listed here on eBay with more than double the miles and nowhere near the pedigree for close to the same money I am asking. This car IS worth every dime of the $8900 I am asking for it and while I'm not interested in dealing too much on it I have enabled the "Best Offer" feature and I may entertain serious offers from serious buyers. If the car does not sell here on eBay, it will go to Barrett Jackson next spring where it will reach the low to mid-teens without a hiccup so do not snooze on this one, it's a great investment.
