Body & Paint: The body panels on the Thing are in excellent condition in my opinion and the paint is in very good condition as well. The paint on the hood has been redone and besides a few other light touch ups the paint is original. There are no scratches or dings that I can see after walking around the car. The Thing also has rear side air scoops which is exclusive to the 74 model.Engine & Transmission: The Thing... holds a 1.6L V4 engine with an original 4 speed manual transmission that runs, drives and shifts great. Interior: The interior of the Thing is an original interior including the original wooden duck boards on the floor. There is a new top and beach top in the trunk along with removable doors with storage cases under the front hood area. Wheels & Tires: The Thing sits on Arizonian Silver Edition tires with 14 inch Volkswagen wheels which are all in very good condition.Suspension: The Thing sits on new shocks along with its original torsion bar suspension system.Electrical: Everything on the Thing appears to work as it should.Glass: The glass on the Thing all around is in good condition with an original windshield that has a couple stone chips but is overall in good condition in my opinion.History: We acquired this Thing out of North Carolina from a collector, but it has spent most of its life in Texas.
