1993 VW Eurovan MV Westfalia Poptop Weekender - Rare 5 SpeedWe love this vehicle! It's been the most versatile and dependable vehicle I've ever had. It is perfect for camping adventures and for people hauling. It can also hold an insane amount of cargo if you are moving or just like to shop too much. It has very cold AC, a new battery, and the poptop & upholstery are in great condition. I don't want to sell it, but have too many cars now, so someone else will get to enjoy it.
The manual transmission makes it a joy to drive and delivers the amount of power you need for hills and freeway speeds. If you've only driven the automatic MV, you are in for a treat.
This is a very complete vehicle and has been very well maintained. The motor runs perfectly and was completely rebuilt at 142K Miles.
I've only had minor and preventive service done, but have made some notable upgrades.
Exhaust Manifold: If you know this vehicle you already know the original cast iron manifolds have a cracking issue. I've upgraded the exhaust manifold to the ACU manifold and downpipe. This was an expensive upgrade but the ACU manifold has no cracking issues and actually improves performance.
Solar: Two flexible solar panels have been installed on the roof. (2 Uni-Solar PVL-68 PowerBond PVL 68 Watt 12 Volt) Also installed is a MPPT charge controller. This system along with the standard auxiliary battery system is very effective at maintaining a 12 volt fridge off the grid.
Fiamma Bike Rack: This vehicle is equipped with a Fiamma Carry-Bike Rack. This is a premium bike rack specially made for this vehicle. I also upgraded the hatch shocks that lift the rear door to accommodate the weight of this rack for effective lifting with the rack installed.
