TRIUMPH TR7 SPIDER - ONLY 548 MADE

This 1980 Triumph TR7 Spider is one of 548 fuel-injected convertibles built for the California market and was acquired by the seller as a father/son project in 2015 from a collector in Kentucky. I have no idea how many are on the road still in running condition. Was a daily driver but now relegated to weekend drives and shows.

Principal items completed include an engine rebuild by Classic AutoSmith of Marietta, GA, EFI overhaul, new steering rack, a complete brake system overhaul, installation of new shocks and struts, new radiator and hoses, new carpet, new door and window rubbers, reupholstered seats (black - original Spider material untraceable), and more. This TR7 Spider is offered with receipts of all work performed.

What is left to do? Fog lights require troubleshooting. Install audio system.

Please contact me for more specific photos or information.

The car is sold AS IS. No warranty. Georgia bill of sale. I have title.

I require a $1,000 deposit within 24 hours upon acceptance of best offer. Deposit is nonrefundable.

More about the Triumph TR7 Spider:

In 1980, a limited-edition version of the TR7 Drophead was launched for the US market by the US importer. Called the "TR7 Spider", it was available only in "maraschino black", with reflective red striping and badging plus black interior trim. Alloy wheels and the steering wheel from the TR8 were fitted. Based on an exhaustive inventory of the factory build cards at the British Heritage Motor Centre archives, it has been confirmed that 1,070 carbureted Spiders were built at the Solihull factory with an additional 548 fuel-injected (Bosch L-jetronic) Spiders built specifically for California. VIN numbers for Spiders for the fuel-injected version from 401374 to 401918. All the Spider-specific equipment was installed at the factory.

The relatively low-build numbers for the Spider Special Edition means that these don’t come onto the market terribly often. The reputation that the TR7 developed was mainly due to problems with early cars, and still impacts their value to this day. Later TR7s are actually pretty decent cars.
