Description:

1972 Triumph TR-6

Includes full set of factory wire wheels with knock off adapters and factory steel hard top. The steel hardtop needs paint and weatherstrips. It is in very good condition otherwise. The factory wire wheels have already been cleaned and painted. It also has factory soft top. The good: the car is a west coast car all of its life and has no rust. Repeat, there is no rust including the frame. The chassis has been refurbished so the suspension and brakes need nothing. The paint is in excellent condition. A color sand and polish would make it outstanding. Tires are very good. This was a running and driving car when I purchased it. The bad: the engine is out of the car. When I purchased the car it had an engine knock. I purchased another "72 engine with approximately 60k on it. I was told that that engine was removed because they put a V8 in that car. I have done a pan off inspection of that engine and it appears to be good as is. However when I removed the engine from my car and inspected it I found that it had already been rebuilt to a higher standard than stock. For instance it has been converted to main bolt studs rather than bolts. So came the dilemma. I didn't find the reason for the knock on initial inspection. But the thought was to repair the existing engine (whatever it would need) or to put the purchased engine in the car. Needless to say both engines are out of the car. The exhaust system is good and does have a header. The car drove well before removing the engine. The overdrive works perfectly. The transmission has already been rebuilt to the tune of $1300.00. I have many extra parts included, such as new carpeting, lots of parts for the engine such as a new downdraft dual carb weber setup, water pump, new clutch, all of the external engine stuff and more. The ignition has been converted to Petronics. I have all of the stock carb setup. Basically the engine compartment needs some repaint and one of the 2 engines put back in the car. The interior is out but everything is there to put it back together, seats and carpet. The radiator and heater core are good. Has the metal radiator fan shroud. I had all of the steel parts that are removed when an engine is removed and replaced black powder coated. I am moving and retiring, just didn't get this project finished. It's a great car that is not completely a basket case. Put the engine back in and the interior and drive the car. That's it. This is a $20K car when put back together. I wish I had the time, but with moving and retirement it is a difficult situation. If you want to purchase the car without the wire wheels or hardtop that would be possible.
