1986 Toyota Pickup

Selling my 1986 Toyota 4wd standard cab short bed turbo pickup truck. Finding one of these turbo truck with sub 100k original miles and with a manual transmission cab be a pretty tall feat. This truck has been well preserved since new, and was a desert climate truck as well. Which means no rust, which is somewhat critical to watch out for on a toyota. Especially the frame itself. When new, the truck was sprayed at the dealer with a light undercoating on frame. Nothing has been sprayed since then. I did not hit the frame with any touch up paint, or any other undercarriage parts. Typically surface rust starts at the rear on these trucks, then moves forward with age. If you look closely at the rear differential there isn’t even any real surface rust on that. Or, on it’s cadmium plated factory brackets. The only real surface rust is on the exhaust system itself. Body wise, also no rust less some small amount of surface rust here and there. Beds usually rust first on these at the glued pinch weld. This one has none there.
The paint on the truck is all original believe it or not. It’s never had any touch ups at all. It only has minor dents, dings, and scratches from general use over the years.I did add a rhinoliner bed liner to it to protect the inside of the bed. I pulled out secondary bed panels to do that. So, it’s rhinolined behind the removable bed panels as well. The bed liner isn’t some cheap two part kit you do at home btw. It’s a real rhinoliner bed liner. The interior is as it was when sold new less some velour panel replacements on the seat only. Carpet, door panels, headliner, dash etc are all as when the truck was sold new. This truck did get an interior upgrade at the dealer when new. Hence that 80’s delicious interior motif. There are no cracks in dash under mat btw. Dealer also added air conditioning as well, which still works wonderfully. Dealer also added decals, and I’ve since changed those out for some jdm decals that came on Japanese market 4Runners back at the same time. Matching the dealer added aftermarket decals was just impossible to do, and they were pretty dried out and cracked from age. So, I opted for these ones.
The truck has terrific road manners over all. It starts, stops, and drives as it should. Mechanically the truck will take you anywhere, it’s very reliable. I had the factory alloy wheels powder coated when I recently put brand new all terrain 235/75r15 tires on it. They are not overly aggressive and handle well. All accessories work as they should, and has a working late model cd player for a touch of modern. I also just did a major tune up, oil change, and new air filter. I also just replaced the original muffler with a new factory style one. All the rest of the original exhaust system including catalytic converter are all still in place and functioning perfectly. The truck is a gem to drive, and it’s ready for its new owner.
