Description:

1983 Toyota Land Cruiser Wagon

1983 Toyota Land Cruiser for sale. This Cruiser is a well-used and loved, completely rust-free "survivor" as in it has survived its share of scrapes and bumps and bruises but has served 340,000 miles of dependable use with absolutely zero rust. The paint is a little thin in spots. It has some bumps and bruises and dents and dings, but is still serving as a dependable daily driver. A recent cold compression test revealed compression of 126, 122, 127, 121, 131, and 122 from cylinders 1 to 6. But it also is in need of a valve adjustment. Does consume some oil, but that may be from valve stem seals as it blows some smoke after engine-braking deceleration. Sale includes a second 2F engine with 189,000 miles on it as well as some very nice rust-free body parts from a 1983 FJ60 to replace the dented front door and fenders. The passenger side front door still opens and closes fine. As you can see in the photos there is no rust in any of the usual places and the frame is super solid. Interior needs reconditioning. The headliner is torn in a couple of places. It has the usual sun cracked dashboard pad, the door panels need cleaning, the carpeting in the cargo area is gone. I have a replacement headliner in decent condition. This was going to be my restoration project but other expenses have preempted my plans. It still has all smog equipment in place. Passes emissions testing. Engine starts up easily, idles smooth, pulls strong. The clutch is solid and grabs great-no slip. The transmission shifts well in all gears. Just replaced the radiator with a newer brass unit. The old one was starting to seep some. Brand new BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, 31X10.5X15 on stock chrome FJ60 rims. Offered as-is with no warranty. Willing to hold vehicle for a reasonable amount of time for shipper to pick up or for buyer to fly in and drive it back. Although driving back with second engine and extra parts might be difficult, so I recommend having it shipped.
