Description:

1968 Saab 96

This Saab is a two owner car having been purchased new in San Francisco by a lady residing in nearby Burlingame where it remained until I was fortunate to purchase it from her in March 2019.All indications are that it had exceptional care as evidenced by the all original interior which is in as new condition. Including even the original rubber floor mats. Only the dash pad covering has been replaced due to minor cracking. The totally rust free exterior has undergone a complete disassembly repaint in an original color at my Pebble Beach Concourse winning restoration shop to a very high standard with incredible gloss. Concurrently an OEM windshield was fitted along with all new seals on all the glass and opening panels. Bumpers and other chrome pieces were replated and appear as new. A set of Vredestein Sport tires were added. The engine was completely disassembled and found to have very minimal wear. Another indication that the odometer reading is accurate. At this time, the cylinder walls were honed and the crankshaft was magnafluxed and the journals were polished. New piston rings, all bearings seals and gaskets, new clutch, oil pump, water pump, electronic ignition and new radiator core were fitted during rebuild. There are no real issues and everything functions as it should, including the clock. The heater and ventilation system are outstanding in their function making it a very comfortable long distance touring car in any weather. It is up to any task including winning at regional car shows. Which it has done recently. My reason for selling is that, at my advanced age, well into the eighties, I find it necessary to dispose of some of my " toys". So it is indeed a reluctant sale.
