Description:

1986 Porsche 911

This is a 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa. It is a five speed manual transmission with a 3.2 H6/FI rear wheel drive engine. I bought this car in 2007. It is silver with black interior. I have been told by my long term Porsche mechanic that the silver paint is custom from the factory in Germany. He says there is a code under the hood that confirms the original owner specified the paint color. The car has a few dinks on it, but overall, the paint is in very good condition. I have always loved the fact that the car has its original paint and looks great.Based on a CARFAX report from 2007, I am the third owner. The car was originally sold by Southpoint Porsche, authorized Porsche dealer no. 0721, in Houston Texas. The original owner lived in Texas and owned the car for approximately 8 years. The second owner lived in Pennsylvania and owned the car for approximately 13 years. The odometer reading on my title says "exempt." Based on photos, the mileage when I bought it read 89,675. The odometer quit working several years after I bought it, and it reads 91,101. In the 17 years I have owned it, my guess is that I have put less than 5,000 miles on the car. The car has always been garaged.Mechanically, the car runs good. Over the years, I have maintained it as needed. I am not a car guy, but I have followed my mechanic's recommendations over the years. The air conditioner has always been wonky and currently the fan works but the air is not cool. Also, I had a fuse go out during Covid, and I couldn't get anyone to work on the car, so I bypassed that fuse and as a result, the car's high beam doesn't work. As far as I know, everything else works well. To my knowledge, there has never been any major mechanical work on the engine. I have kept all service records since I have owned the car. The car was just inspected in May 2024.The Targa top is in excellent condition. All original stickers on the engine and on the door jams are in place and in good condition. The glove box contains the original factory owner's manual and warranty and maintenance manual.. The interior is in good condition.I am selling it because I have too many toys and the car needs a good home with an owner who will drive it and enjoy it.
