Featured here is a matching numbers 1983 3.0L Porsche 911 SC coupe, 87,000 original miles, and clean vehicle history. Upon our initial assessment, this vehicle presented very well, with a nice history of care. It drove and performed properly, and was mechanically sound prior to the work we performed. While in our care, it has received both an engine refresh and artistic “outlaw” ornamentation. The result is a modestly antiquated interior aesthetic, thanks to features like brass grommetedsportsseats, classic chromed rear-view mirror and dome lights, a 908-style shift knob, a Viilante Corsa 350mm steering wheel, and custom Coco mats. Original seat leather and coordinating carpet has been refreshed, with the addition of new black carpet accents and new black leatherette trim. Subtle details like new stainless steel and factory 993 footplates, aluminum pedal assembly (not yet pictured), aluminum handle brake lever, aluminum instrument bezels and key ignition, and black anodized and perforated door handles have all helped to create an edgier, “outlaw” personality. The addition of wide-body metal fender flares and removal of the rear impact bumperettes are 2 of the exterior modifications that have subtly revamped the character of this classic 911, without negotiating its organic form. It has received a full professional re-spray in original Schwarz Metallic, complete with new seals. In typical “outlaw” fashion, the tension bars have been properly lowered over 5-spoke OZ wheels and new Good Year all-season tires. Theflares, lowered profile, and artful touches, like the ceramic-coated sport exhaust, new bumperette bellows, new tail light lenses, and a clear headlight assembly, have resulted in a discreetly “outlawed” version of the original SC coupe. Other notable additions include a new steering wheel hub, new wiper blade set, new front seatbelts (not yet pictured), refurbished red calipers, new Porsche hood badge,and new side turn-signal indicators. Years of grime and residue have been eliminated thanks to dry-ice blasting of the entire undercarriage. The engine refresh is currently underway and includes a complete fluid change, valve covergaskets,timing chain gaskets, belts, spark plugs, and A/C system analysis and repair (if necessary). It is not a full restoration, but rather a refresh of both the mechanical and aesthetic components. The result is a very moderately priced, everyday driver, that has the visual turn-on of a much more expensive air-cooled Porsche 911.
