1972 Porsche 914
I took this 72 914 1.8 5 speed in trade for a car trailer of mine. And know little about it. Other than the fellow from Phoenix said it was an original Arizona 914 and that it had been sitting in storage in his garage for the last 5 years. He put new tires, a new battery, changed the fluids and got it up and running no problem. It shows 38,878 miles on the odometer and the Arizona title from years ago shows 131,100 Box A miles. Which means actual miles. I drove it around the block and checked it out as much as I could. Engine sounds good. Lights pop up, wipers wipe, signals work. And so on. It will need to be gone thru more, I imagine, before long distance trips. Guess it was gone thru sometime or other and repainted from Silver to red. Which looks better in pics than it actually is. As usual. it has flat spots, cracking, blisters, chipping and really should be stripped and redone. Interior is not bad. The vinyl above driver seat on doorside needs to be redone. But the rest is not bad.5 spee, Weber carb conversion, front fiberglass spoiler.nice glass,.The rear decklid latch is gone and replaced by a little pinhole you push a rod thru to open.Shaved look but not very secure if someone else has a rod in their pocket. The floors, rockers, trunk floors are pretty clean. There is some rust starting on front edge passenger pan and there is a small split in the center front I tried to show in pics. This will make a great car to work on and bring back on the road. It is not a showroom car.Not even close. It needs work. It is a projectOriginal uncut, unflared, straight rustfree 914 bodies are getting harder to find This will be a great base to build a 914 your way.Go stock or go hotrod.Always start with the most rustfree straight body you can find. This is it. Clean straight title.I travel around mostly the West Coast and might be able to get it to you or close for reasonable money. I can arrange shipping to Long Beach California shippers for export for $300 no problem.
