Description:

1974 Porsche 914 Center console with guages

This 914 has been stored inside for the last 13 years. It ran well and I drove it regularly on a 200 mile commute prior to it being stored. The sideshift transmission shifts smoothly and the engine ran smoothly.IT DOES NOT RUN AT THIS TIME.However, the engine turns over easily with the starter. The car has very little rust and the "hell holes" in the engine compartment are solid. They are sprayed gray in color, and are pictured. The jack points are both solid, as are the floorboards and longitudals. There is a quarter sized rust hole near the engine compartment release and a dime sized rust bubble on the bottom rear of the drivers side fender, both are pictured. The paint has peeled away in a 10 inch circle on the front of the hood, and on the corner of the fender. Neither area is dented or damaged beyond the peeled paint. The engine is a 1.8 liter which has the correct serial number to be in the car and appears to be the original motor. It has twin Dellorto carbs and stainless steel heat exchangers. The interior is in poor condition, the back pad and seats have rips and tears, but are recoverable, the dashboard has the standard 914 cracks, the guages are all present and work, although the temperature guage is not connected. The lights and windshield wipers worked when parked but are currently not working, I suspect rodent damage. The carpets will need thorough cleaning or replacement, also due to rodents. The original owners manual for the car is included. The tires hold air and have tread, but due to the long term storage I would plan on replacing them. They are mounted on aftermarket rims typical for the age of the car. The rims are in good condition. The car is available for inspection in Albuquerque, NM, and I encourage you to come look at it. This is a very solid car which could be returned to running condition relatively quickly or used as a great start to a restoration.I am happy to answer any questions about the car.Deposit of $1000.00 is due 24 hours after auction ends, paypal or cash. Remaining balance due within 14 days of auction end and prior to pickup of the car. Payment by cash or paypal. Pickup needs to be arranged within 30 days of sale.
