Up for sale is a 1955 Porsche 550 spyder replica. This is a vintage Spyders replica that has about 500 miles on the odometer.I bought this car new in 2009 from vintage Spyders in Stanton, California. The car was purchased as a deluxe kit fully upholstered and fully painted incharcoal grey taken from 08 ford mustang color code. It has Porsche silver spears on the trunk lid. Clear coat was added and looks very nice.The engine and trans were installed a year later. (I was too busy to finish up the car in a timely manor so it sat a lot in my garage unfinished for a long while)All new parts were used in this vw type 1 2332cc motor. It has the cb performance competition fuel injection and cb performance 044 wedge port heads with port matched intake manifolds. The cam is 2246 mid range cb performance brand. Full flow 30mm oil pump with external oil filter. Slim deep sump. Welded and balanced cooling fan. Wedgemated crank and flywheel. Balanced engine parts. High torque starter. Magna flow ceramic coated exhaust.The transmission is a vw swingaxle built by rancho transmissions in Santa Ana, ca. The transmission has a rhino case with hd differential, welded gusset and sway away axles.The car has the original style black banjo steering wheel and jamar dune buggy style shifter. Four wheel empi disc brakes. Hydraulic brakes and clutch. 2" lap belts with shoulder harnesses. The car was stored indoors until 2015 when i finally got it on the road registered and received a California smog exemption sticker (sb100).It has 185/60-15 front and 205/60-15 rear tires. The tires are about 2 years old.I haven't had much time to drive and enjoy the car. It runs great and drives very nice. It looks as good as a day I bought it. The only noticible flaw in the paint is a chip on the driver door thats pictured. It's always been garaged and has never seen rain. Please ask any questions before bidding.Thank you.
