Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1979 Pontiac TA which is a documented Factory Y84 Special Edition Trans AM. In 1979 Pontiac only made 1107 Special Edition Trans AM's with a factory 4 speed manual transmission coupled with a Pontiac 400 engine, this TA is 1 of the 1107 made. Per the included PHS Report and Factory Build sheet this TA is a Factory 4 speed manual transmission TA with a Factory Pontiac 400 engine which is original to the car, see photos of vin stamp on block and "PWH" stamp on block. The transmission has a matching vin stamp as well meaning the engine and transmission are both original to the car which is extremely important when determining value. This TA is a factory Black car with Factory Camel Tan deluxe interior with factory gold SE pin stripes. This TA features a brand new paint job with new decals and pin stripes completed 1/2020, a fully restored correct Camel deluxe vinyl interior, the original Pontiac 400 engine and 4 speed transmission, and PHS documents and Factory build sheet authenticating this special TA. This TA is finished in the most desirable color combination of Starlight Black exterior over Camel Tan vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the included build sheet and PHS documents and trim tag. These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability.

Exterior

The Black exterior is in fully restored condition. This Trans Am features a brand new paint job in factory starlight black with brand new decals and special edition pinstripes. The paint is in fresh very nice overall condition and has a very nice gloss and excellent shine. There are no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape. There is no bubbling paint or cracked paint due to body filler on this TA. There was no rust repair prior to the repaint as the body was in excellent rust free condition. The underside is very solid and honest and rust free. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires are brand new and are sized 245/60/15 and the 8" WS6 snowflake wheels are brand new wheels in perfect condition with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good shape. Trunk is clean with the original spare tire and jack with an original style correct trunk mat. The hood release on the car works well but is not stock. I have included a new hood release cable, bracket and clip to change to stock if desired. There is minor damage to the tail panel due to an improper attempt to jack up the car.

Interior

The Camel Tan deluxe vinyl interior of this Trans Am is in fully restored excellent overall condition. The seat covers are brand new with no wear, no rips, or seam splits. These covers were recently replaced and the seat foams are in good condition as well. The carpet was just replaced as well and is like new with no stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading. Most importantly this is the original dash, not a dash cap or the like. The dash bezel was just fully restored by Randy Combs and truly makes the interior. The am/fm cassette stereo has been upgraded to a Kenwood unit which sounds great in the car. Thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The power antenna was replaced with a fixed mast unit and the mast can be removed. The door panels are brand new and were just replaced and are in perfect new condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. New door cups and door lock pulls were added. New sill plates were added. The headliner was just replaced and the sun visors are new. The entire center console is brand new including a new shifter bezel, new console lid and bin, and new map pocket. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work outside of the cigarette lighter and clock. The stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. The horn is intermittent.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in very nice mechanical condition with low "Actual" miles of 49,809. The Ohio title branded the miles as "Actual" on this TA. Most importantly the original Pontiac W72 400 engine is still in the car with matching numbers. The original 4 speed manual transmission is still in the car with matching numbers as well. A new radiator was recently added with new hoses. 4 new shocks were added recently as well. New sway bar end links were installed. The exhaust was recently replaced with Magna Flow style mufflers which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. A new starter was just added. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it rides well, and is always a joy to drive. The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is addictive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and enhances performance. Correct emissions decal and air cleaner decal were just added, see photo.
