My Eye catching 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible with 49,xxx original miles is up for sale. Of the 16,960 convertibles made in 1968 very few came with the 400 engine and a 4 speed. I DO have PHS paperwork on the car . The car came as a 400 3sp stick with the consol. Now has a 400 H.O. engine with a muncie 4sp. This car runs excellent and driving it is too much fun! Everything is in working condition with the exception of the original AM radio. This is a rare opportunity for one to come up for sale like this. This car is very fresh and currently registered to me. Here`s a breakdown of the cars options.Non numbers but, correct WQ code 1968 400 HO engine complete carb to pan and rebuilt. Muncie M-21 4 speed,10 bolt posi rea, power steering, power disc brakes(69 single piston), power top, power windows, Original Tinted glass, Tilt wheel, hood tach, Consol, delux door panels,rear antenna, original Pontiac rally 2 15x7 wheels with rings and caps on all 4 corners and a rear spoiler that`s been added. New items on the car are as follows, suspension, windshield, radiator, heater core, fuel tank and sender, fuel and brake lines, master cylinder, calipers, wheel cylinders, hoses, brakes pads and shoes, tires, all weather stripping, nos wheel well mouldings, rocker mouldings, front and rear bumpers, convertible top, top pistons, carpet, battery, headlight & wiper switches, alternator, regulator clutch set up, u joints and front end components tie rod, ball joints etc, air cleane, headers and custom 2 1/2"exhaust. I`m sure I missed some items. The prior owner who bought this 68 Firebird 400 in 1986 decided he wanted to restore the ca, he managed to get the body and paint done in 200, the color is stunning! (The original color was a lighter green). and the top installed in 2001. It then sat apart for years. I bought the car from him earlier this year and finished it. The Black interior was redone using Legendary seat covers & new foam . Everything else was either rebuilt, replaced (with original if possible) or restored /cleaned up. Included in the sale of this car is a complete fold down rear seat option. I have the rear seat (needs new cover, latch, divider strip and divider board. I have one bracket so another is needed. Its a very nice car, not a trailer queen, it was restored to be driven and enjoyed. Bring it to shows and be prou, win trophies if that`s your thing. This car is an excellent original example.
