1971 Pontiac Ventura Base

1971 Pontiac Ventura II
Good solid project.
Title in hand. It has been sitting since 1992.Likely has fallen off the records, but I have a signed pink slip ready to go.
Original 307 Chevy V8 ran when parked. Turns over by hand, but I have not tried to get it running.
Th350 Transmission. Column shift. Shift linkage has been disconnected from shifter and set in neutral for easy moving.
There is a good sized dent on the driver's side door and fender jamb area, and a large dent on the passenger quarter panel that has been pulled out. I posted pictures of these areas.
The worst part of the car is the driver's side quarter panel. This car was in a wreck in 1988, and the quarter panel was trashed. Instead of replacing it, the owner just layered on Bondo. Looks bad. However replacing the quarter panel ($400 from Classic Industries) would fix that. The damage does extend to the door jamb. However it does not extend to the rocker. No frame damage, just sheetmetal, someone with time and a welder could replace it in a weekend.
Very minimal rust. There is a dime-sized rust hole in the driver's side floorboard. There is rust just starting to come through the passenger side lower quarter panel. And there is rust trying to form on the taillight panel around the weatherstripping. I have included pictures of these areas.
Other than the very small rust hole in the driver's front floor, the rest of the floor is in great condition. I removed the original torn up rubber floor mat. Floors are perfect. The trunk floor is solid as well.
All glass is good except the front windshield, it has a few cracks in it.
Other than the areas mentioned above, the car is very straight and solid. All the stainless around the windows is nice, grill and front bumper are perfect. rear bumper is slightly tweaked, but good. Someone tried painting the car many years ago and got overspray everywhere. I have started to clean it off in some areas. It is missing almost all of the side trim.
Inside the car, the headliner is in near-perfect condition. There is some staining, and just one or two tiny holes in it. The back seat has no rips or tears anywhere, but is discolored and stained all over. The front bench seat is worn out on the driver's side, and it doesn't want to slide back . Probably just needs some grease on the tracks, but I don't know for sure. Seat would need to be recovered. Springs feel solid. The dash pad has a few cracks in it, and has been painted black. They did a bad job and the paint is flaking off. There are no front door panels and there are a few little parts missing here and there. Gauge cluster with optional clock. Not sure if it works. AM/FM radio. The wiring under the dash is a mess, probably would be best to replace the wiring harness, but some patience, and you could probably figure it out.
Ignition switch has been busted out. Previous owner tried to force it to turn and broke the cylinder. New lock kits are around $35.00 from Classic Industries.

Odometer reads 56,510. I have no way of knowing if this is the actual mileage, or if it has turned over in the past. But ithasbeen sitting for 25 years now, and may be original.

The car was originally LimeGreen with I believe Sandalwood interior.Standard vinyl bench seat. In-dash clock is the only option Iknow it has. It has an AM/FM radio, but I don'tknow if it is original.
I tried to be as honest as I can be with the condition of this car so anyone looking knows what they're up against.

I originally got this car with the intention of holding onto it for a few years, then restoring it and selling, but a few things changed, and now I need to sell it sooner rather than later. I would liketo see it go to a good home.Al I have done to the Ventura since acquiring it has been strip out the interior, clean, and reassemble, and cleaned up the exterior as bestI could.
This car would make a good project for someone. It's complete and really just needs to be fixed up. It would make a good driver, or make a drag car out of it. Most of the parts are interchangeable with a 1968-72 Chevy Nova.

If the bidding reaches close enough to my reserve price, I will sell the car to the highest bidder.

Buyer is responsible for picking it up, or making arrangements to pick it up. I doknow a person who can deliver the car, but it might take a little while before he is available to transport the car. I can provide a price to have him deliver if you're interested.
