Description:

1968 Plymouth Fury Sport Fury

I purchased this car in the early 1990's from an elderly gentleman with a 318 engine and 42,000 miles. The paint and body work was finished in 1998 and still works great. The engine compartment, front stub frame, suspension and steering components along with the underside of trunk lid and the trunk compartment gutters, were all painting in 2010 after the original 318 drivetrain was pulled. One year color, HH1 Yellow Gold.
A 520” pump gas 9.9 compression stroker professionally built by the late Nick Wilson at Compu Flo in 2014. Built to be a street driven car. A 3.73 professionally built sure grip pumpkin was installed with the engine in 2014. A custom made driveshaft loop was installed for safety reasons along with a TTI 2.5” exhaust, Edelbrock 800 cfm non-choke carb, an ignition module with a built in rev limiter, were all installed in 2014. The engine has approximately 2,000 miles on it.
The automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2023 by a transmission shop that that put the best parts available in the transmission including putting in a later valve body that allows for part throttle downshifts. The transmission has 250 miles on it. Thecolumn shift 727 transmission rebuild cost over $3,200 and has a deep cast pan and it shifts firm. A radiator style transmission cooler keeps the transmission happy.
The Magnum 500 wheels and Hancock tires were installed in 2023 and have no more than 150 miles on them.
The engine has a custom grind cam based on the engine specs and the flow of the ported heads.
Stock appearing engine compartment with correct 1968 factory intake and HP exhaust manifolds. Holley electric blue fuel pump feeds a fuel pressure regulator that feeds a Carter high volume mechanical pump. 4 core, narrow fin 22” radiator recently rodded out, full coolant system chemical flush done in 2023 including a new water pump.
I have close to $20,000 invested in mechanicals including a front disc brake conversion that uses 1973 rotors and 1970 - 1973 calipers
Interior is 100% original with some fading, a few seams that have opened up, the seat foam is disintegrating, some of the piping on the driver's seat has come loose. Good dash pad, seat backs are not perfect but I may have spares. A good upholstery shop should be able to repair the front seats. Reproduction seat covers are available from Legendary.
If you are not a fan of the skirts, I do have NOS non-skirt rear wheel opening moldings that could be negotiated into a sale.
A lot of NOS trim was put on this car in 1998. Turn key car with a few nicks/chips.
Questions welcome as are inspections. Car is located in North Carolina between Charlotte and Mooresville.
