Description:

1964 Plymouth Fury

1964 Plymouth Fury Resto-Mod/NASCAR styled project. As a kid I fell in love with Richard Petty's '64 Plymouth Belvedere racer and I decided to build my version of that car, so this is definitely NOT your classic restoration.

I never intended to sell my Fury but circumstances force me into it, even with the end of the project so close. I'll be as detailed as possible about the car but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'm happy to answer anything you'd like to know.

Don't let the pictures in the listing fool you, the car is nearingcompletion, but I wanted to use pictures taken during the build process that showed the individual areas (suspension, engine, etc.) to give you a good view of the components and build quality.

Body:

*Clean title in hand. Registration is in Nevada with "non-op" status. I have purposely not listed the VIN in the listing for security reasons but will provide all but the last 4 digits upon request.

*Race weight fiberglass fenders, pin-on hood, trunk lid, bumpers (front bumper was slightly damaged during a move and will need minor repairs if used), and 2 A990 Super Stock scoops (1 factory height, the other a tall version).

*Factory steel bumpers (in terrific condition) included in the sale.

*Car was painted in 2-stage a few years ago but never cut & buffed, I figured I’d do that after the car was complete. This was the first car I ever painted so it is not perfect but when it’s cut & buffed the color is deep and beautiful. I painted an extra door at the same time I painted the car, cut & buffed it, and it looks stunning! I have a picture I can send if you'd like to see the finished product.

*New front and rear glass come with the car but not installed.

*New front and rear glass gaskets are included in the sale.

*Rear is mini-tubbed.

*LED tail-light and back-up bulbs.

*Headlights in pictures are old, non-functioning units used to measure/route wiring so need to be replaced.

*All moldings and trim are included but not installed (was going to install after cut & buff).

*New Metro weatherstripping and seals throughout.

*Floors and firewall were shot with Lizard Skin Ceramic heat shield/sound deadener (inside and out) prior to paint being applied.

*The wiper linkage and spindles are included in the sale but there is no motor (linkage & spindles are not installed).

Chassis:

*Art Morrison front clip with 2005 Corvette Z06 front suspension. Clip is tied directly into the original rear sub-frame, eliminating the need for sub-frame connectors.

*QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks (600lb front & 200lb rear).

*Custom tubular front and solid rear anti-roll bars.

*2005 Z06 Corvette front rotors and calipers.

*Coleman Racing rotors and Wilwood Dynalite calipers in the rear.

*Brake lines are completed and run throughout the car.

*Rear suspension is a “truck arm” setup like those used on NASCAR stockers. Pivot end of arms are adjustable both vertically and horizontally to fine tune the suspension.

*9” Ford rear axle housing is narrowed and reinforced with a "back brace".

*9” Ford center section w/ 4.10:1gear(open diff) included but not mounted (planned on a locker).

*31 spline floating axles.

*Full floating hubs.

*Driveshaft hoop.

*Custom Watts link.

*Spin-Tech 3” mufflers.

*Exhaust tubing (3”) passes through the frame to exit downwards behind the doors.

*AGR power steering rack.

*Ford/Volvo type-II electric pump (mounted on passenger side frame rail in engine compartment near the firewall; pump wiring harness not included).

*S&W Race Cars 8-point roll hoop with forward, rearward, and engine compartment down bars.

*New American Autowire harness installed and ready for ECM, sensors, etc. to be plugged in.

*Separate fuse/relay panel (for high draw items such as seat heaters, fans, etc.) tied into wiring harness and fuse block.

*Car was built with a solid trunk floor with the intention of cutting out the correct dimensions and dropping in a ’65 – ’68 Ford Mustang fuel tank (not included), or just as easily a bolt in fuel cell.

*Dual -10 hardlines are run from the trunk to the engine compartment for fuel feed and return.

*Battery box and cabling included (for trunk installation) but not installed.

*Fury does not yet have a driveshaft or parking brake (always intended on using a pinion mounted parking brake).

*The car was built on a chassis table with the ride height of 5", measured at the bottom of the frame rails, so neither the front norrear suspension angles/action have been compromised in any way to achieve the aggressive stance. In addition, nothing hangs below the bottom of the frame rails, not the headers, not the mufflers, nothing, everything is tucked up and away neatly and out of view.

Engine:

*440 based 512” stroker (Casting #2536430, cast on July 21, 1967), .030 over, sonic checked, decked, and line honed.

*440-Source Ultralight Platinum 4340 forged crank, 4.25” stroke.

*440-Source Platinum 7.1” 4340 H-beam rods w/ 7/16” ARP 8740 rod bolts.

*Approximately an 11.0:1CR (w .039 head gaskets).

*Clevite H-Series rod and main bearings.

*Comp XS282S Nitrided 3-bolt solid flat tappet cam installed "straight up"(cam card/info is in the pictures).

*440-Source SFI rated fluid-damper (fully degreed).

*Rotating assembly fully balanced.

*Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI system, including 1000cfm throttle body, dual-sync distributor, ECM, injectors, harness (installed), all sensors and hand-held tablet for tuning.

*Pro-Flo was upgraded to 60 lb/hr injectors to handle the expected power (standard P-F 4 has 35 lb/hr injectors and is rated for 550hp)

*Milodon 7-quart baffled oil pan.

*Milodon dual line external oil system w/swinging pickup.

*Milodon externally adjustable oil pressure regulator.
