Description:

1966 Plymouth Barracuda

Selling my 1966 Barracuda that’s been restored and upgraded by the previous owner. I purchased this in early 2021 but unfortunately my priorities have changed recently and I need to sell this. It starts right up every time, drives nice and strong, handles well, shifts well, drives straight, and stops fast. Haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve included the details below that I received regarding the upgrades when I purchased it. Feel free to arrange for an inspection, just message me. I’m also happy to take any additional pictures or videos upon request. Also included will be the service manual, owners manual, and all the receipts for the rebuild that were included from the previous owner.

ENGINE:

Upgraded to a 1978 360ci LA. The engine block was fitted with E58 heads after being degreased and hot tanked. Cylinders were bored .030 over, the mains were aligned and honed and the crank ground .010 under including mains and rods. The engine was fitted with a new Mopar oil pan, Mopar high performance oil pump, Eagle SIR forged I-beam rods, and Keith Black KB107 flat top hyper flat-top pistons. Chrome moly rings, full floating wrist pins, new Durabond cam bearings, new Mopar Purple camshaft, 280/280 duration, 480/480 lift, new Mopar lifters, and new Mopar push rods. The E58 heads were cut for 2.02 intake valves while retaining the stock 160 exhaust valves. New Mopar rocker shafts, rocker arms, spacers and valve springs with retainers and locks from Comp Cams completed the block. An Edlebrock Performer RPM intake manifold, Edlebrock 650 four barrel carburetor, Doug’s headers, Durral radiator fan, and Champion aluminum radiator completed the engine. The motor has been measured at a static compression of 9.7/1. I also planned to bring the exhaust out to the back of the vehicle as was original, but never got around to installing the parts purchased for it. I’ll include both over the axle pipes and the new Barracuda exhaust tips.

DRIVETRAIN:

The Mopar A-833 4 speed transmission features new shift levers, new shift rods, new Hurst shifter, new Hurst shift handle, new throw out bearing, new pilot bearing, new flywheel, new McCloud clutch, a new zbar and bushings. The rear end is an 8-3/4 unit, with a 489 case, 3.91 gearing, and posi-traction.

SUSPENSION:

The rear suspension was enhanced with the addition of a leaf to the spring packs, and new shocks. The front suspension was enhanced with new big block torsion bars (.904 diameter), new upper and lower ball joints, a Hellwig sway bar, and shocks.

BRAKES:

A completely new braking system was installed. The system replacement included new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hard and soft lines, new drums (front), rear drums cut, and new brake shoes and all hardware on all four corners.

BODY:

This is a driver and definitely not concours condition, but that’s what makes it enjoyable! The body itself is in great shape and very solid. There are a few dings here and there, the worst of which is the dent on the front driver corner, pictured. The paint below the gas fill tube has been worn down from previous owners overfilling it. There is only one small rust issue that I’ve found is behind the rear wheel on the passenger side, see pictures. There are some paint chips on the front clip/hood as expected from a driver, but overall it looks very nice. See the pictures for more details.

INTERIOR:

The interior is in great shape and gets the most comments from people at car shows. Everyone absolutely loves the plaid interior! The internals of the speedometer likely need to be rebuilt as it doesn’t read accurately and will jump around quite a bit, but the odometer seems to work just fine. I just used a free speedometer app on my phone when driving around. The odometer currently reads just over 63,150 and I have no idea whether it has rolled over or if those are actual miles.

PAYMENT / SHIPPING:

$500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due within 24-hours. Shipping is to be arranged and paid for at the buyer's expense. The car is located in zip code 84121 for reference.
