1972 Plymouth Duster 340

VIN: VS29H2B253492
For sale: 1972 Plymouth Duster 340
This is a numbers matching, 340 - Auto, 1972 Plymouth Duster 340. This is a great unrestored mostly unmolested survivor. I bought this car 14 years ago and it has sit in my shop and has been driven very little, I had the intention of restoring the car but as with most of us time has been short. This would be an extremely easy restoration since there is no body damage and the only rust on it is surface rust and absolutely no rust through, I have went over this car with a magnet and it will stick to every panel and place you could think of that there would be rust or bondo. This is not a perfect car since it has 45 years of scratches dings and paint fade. If you are looking to restore, this is a great candidate, if you are looking for an original this would also be a great candidate but it does have patina. I will list below some of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly that I can see.
THE GOOD
Solid panels, no rust through, numbers matching drivetrain, nice interior and carpet, bucket seats with console, runs and drives good, power steering, Sure grip differential, High Impact FY1 Lemon Twist color, original jack still with car. I am guessing it has a fairly new vinyl top or a very good original, I will assume the former.
THE BAD
I believe the engine has been rebuilt at one time because it is the wrong color, its painted hemi orange but its original color is Chrysler Industrial Blue, it has blue paint on the oil pan and under the orange. The breather is a 1970/1971 breather pan with the original 1972 lid, 1972 should be a single snorkel breather. The bucket seats and console are not original to the car, it should be a bench seat car and the original column shift steering column is still in the car but the console shifter is complete and functions normally the bucket seats and console however are appropriate for the car.
THE UGLY
45 years of scratches, dings, and paint fade. The bumpers are not straight. The dash pad has a crack in it. There is surface rust in places but no rust through. The windshield washer tank is broken. The fan shroud is cracked, the carburetor and alternator have been replaced with rebuilt ones. A previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo and cut the dash and package shelf to install it.
I have included a photo of the fender tag, and from the online fender tag decoder the details of the original factory options are as follows:
