For the very first time this beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS is for sale. Not only is this remarkable piece of history equipped with its original matching number,396 Big Block Engine & 4-speed, it’s still in its original paint. This is the real deal, Holy Grail, this car has all the correct deluxe interior, 4-speed manual transmission, 396 big block engine, hideaway headlights, SS with the RS package.

I purchased this car from the second owner who personally knew the car & its original owner. In the early 90’s, the opportunity to purchase this rare piece of history with around 22,000 miles was presented. The second owner only drove it less than 5000 miles under his ownership. I may have only put 100 miles on the car myself in the 4 years I have owned it. I wanted to preserve the vehicle as best as possible.

The car has never been on the market for sale to the public. The original owner had special-ordered the car from the dealership. When the second owner bought it from his friend he was proud to say the least. I happened to spot the car in a garage when I went to look at another model Camaro that was posted for sale. When I arrived at the seller’s location, I had seen this beautiful ‘67 in the garage & asked the seller if he would sell it to me. The gentleman was getting older, needing to move out of state, and was worried the cars would not get the meticulous attention that they deserved. I bought the Camaro I originally inquired about, & after conversation for a few hours I was able to buy the 1967 RS/SS.

I know it’s hard to believe but it’s true—there are only 27,000 original miles on this car; the original matching number 396 engine still remains in the car. The data plate documents that all color codes are correct colors on the car & are original and correct to be a real SS/RS. The matching numbers on the engine block indicate that it’s the original 396 to the car as shown in the photos.

A factory 1st Generation big block Camaro with these options and originality will be next to impossible to find anywhere else! These cars do not go up for sale so don’t lose your chance to own this one. With all that being said and out-of-the-way let’s start talking about the condition.

Running Condition

This original matching-numbers Big Block V8 396 still has plenty of life and power left in her. Shifting 1st to 2nd gear at full throttle, this beast will lay rubber, putting you in the seat, grinning ear-to-ear. There’s nothing like an old muscle car. There’s no comparison to a 1st Generation Camaro RS/SS. The sound and feel of the motor is incomparable. The motor does not knock, smoke, or make any funny noises with no known leaks. The 4-speed transmission is not the matching transmission. It shifts through all gears like butter.

Body & Paint

The paint is exceptional, straight as an arrow down the sides. The car has all of its original body panels and has never been in any accidents. There are no waves, nor are there any orange peels.The SS badge on the front passenger fender is not lined up quite evenly so it will need to be removed and reinstalled. The car received one repaint through its entire life, finished in its factory correct colors professionally. All of the doors, hood, trunk, glass, chrome trim, and vinyl top were properly removed prior to the car being painted then reinstalled. All of the door jams, under the hood, and trunk compartment look terrific. There is absolutely no rust under the vinyl top & has never had rust.

Interior

All of the factory deluxe upholstery and panels are in excellent condition. Dashboard is perfect with no cracks, the door panels are nice and solid and the carpet is tight. Everything looks great with no discoloration. The seats are still nice and firm, not loose and worn out.

Engine Bay, Trunk, Undercarriage

Everything appears to look nice even with the engine bay never being restored. All of the undercarriage is in excellent original condition as seen confirming this is a completely rust free car. The trunk compartment is no exception, appearing just as amazing.

Glass & Chrome

All of the glass looks & cleans great with no cracks, chipping, or blemishing. All of the chrome is in excellent condition with no bends, nicks or dents. All of the felt rubbers and gaskets are in impressive condition without any cracking or brittle areas.

Wheels & Tires

The wheels are the original 14” rallies. The redline tires, although they have lots of tread and no soft spots, are very old and wouldn’t recommend taking it on any really long distance trip with these tires.
