Description:

1966 Ford Thunderbird 1966 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE 94K MILES

1966 Thunderbird convertible with the original numbers matching Q code 428. Rare cloth interior with passenger raising headrest and AM/FM radio. Recent maintenance includes a new battery, antifreeze, oil change, oil filter, air filter, transmission fluid/filter/pan gasket, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, electronic points, fan belts, valve cover gaskets, upper and lower radiator hoses, front brake calipers, front brake pads, front brake hoses, rear brake wheel cylinders, brake master cylinder, electric fuel pump. The original carburetor was professionally rebuilt. Older red repaint from white shows well, has some paint defects/touch ups and appears to have some filler in the very bottom of the quarter panels, but not noticeable, paint could use a good buff/wax. The sequence turn signals are working, headlights/ taillights and interior dash lights all working along with the movable steering wheel. There was a aftermarket under mount radio that was removed and the AM/FM radio was not re-hooked up, I also noticed that the gas gauge does not work. The Tbird starts right up and drives well, a slight exhaust leak that looks like had a prior repair and I noticed a small oil leak on the garage floor when the cars sits, which I hear is normal. Many of the brake parts were replaced, but the brakes are still a little hard. Tires are older Vouge tires, they are ok but could use a balance. The top is in poor shape, has shrunk from being in the trunk and wont reach the front windshield to latch and the electronics are not currently working, there is clicking and the pump starts to raise the top from the trunk, but stops, I don't know enough about the top to know what's wrong, the prior owner said that it worked, but hasn't for me. The original carpet is tired and has some tears. The seats look good, the drivers seat has a small tear in a seam and the interior could use a good cleaning. The undercarriage is excellent, floor boards are solid with no signs of any damage or repairs. Included in the sale are the period correct Maryland license plates, additional set of original wheels and hub caps (tires are dry rotted), rear fender skirts, new rear shocks, owners manual, shop manual, color dealer brochure and build sheet.

The fuel gauge is working, it was just low on fuel and not registering and there are front seat belts.
