1956 Other Makes

I have a 1956 Met Convertible that I was going to build. Bought almost everything for it, and now must move on to another project. So, here is the list. Body is in excellent condition with a paint job that has had a few little scratches. But no dents. I purchased a 2800 Capri V6 to put in it with a four speed that has been rebuilt but will need to have some gaskets replaced as it was rebuilt some time ago and never started. I bought the Offy manifold and Holly Carb brand new from Summit Racing. I have the exhaust manifolds, but it should have headers made for it. The engine fits and looks very nice. Motor mounts have been designed but need to be made, real easy out of three by three angle iron. I have both the original and the Capri drive shafts so that will be easy to have made. Radiator is excellent. I bought a 3.70 ratio rear differential and the complete front disc brake kit. I also have the power window and original regulator mechanisms in case you want power windows. The heater system is all there, along with all of the stainless steel trim. Bumpers are there, need a little straightening and rechrome, and the grill surround should just be replaced. I have all of the hinges and latches and a rear trunk lid and surround so you can put a trunk in it. It has a brand new white top and the top bows have been powder coated. It's a project, but a really cool one when finished. Original engine was 850cc and a three speed. Finished, the engine is 2,800cc and a full syncro four speed. I have the title in my name, and for an extra $250 I will sign over the 1956 yellow and black CA plates I have for it. I have the side glass, but the windshield glass is broken. New tires are on the rims, and it has the very rare original Metropolitan wire wheel covers for that added great look. Gas tank is excellent, the speedo might need a lot of work. Please feel free to ask any questions, I have well over $8,000 in it, not mentioning all the time and effort to get the parts for it. The lights are there, and the interior was done at one time, but should be redone if you want a show winner.
