Description:
1952 MG Midget
Shipping or pickup is the responsibility of the buyer. This is the first year of the steel wheels. Wire wheels can still be obtained. A supercharger is available which almost doubles your horsepower, but is not offered with this auto.Tires have less than 1,000 miles on them, including the spare and are 5.50 x 15in. The side windows are secured behind the driver's seat. Maintenance is simple. The wooden dashboard has speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure and water temperature gauges. The gas mileage is purported to be 30 mpg. and we got about that. The top speed is 81 mph., with a 0-60 time of 19 seconds. The handling is much better than the performance as the weight is low and the vehicle sits low. To drive this adventurous two-seater is to be transported back to a vintage age. You sit straight in a narrow cockpit with a large rimmed steering wheel close to your chest. On a summer's day the TD is pure joy. Short trips become great adventures. Ash frame with 2 door body. Frame is steel. Vehicle comes with wind wings, tire cover, front wing mirrors, leather seats, free standing headlights, Lucas fog lights, all wood steering wheel, rack and pinon steering, independent front suspension, and hydraulic drum brakes front and rear. Vehicle weighs 2,016 pounds with a 94" wheelbase. Mostly taken to car shows in the local area. Vehicle is rear wheel drive, and 4 speed. Handles like it should. Always garaged and under cover. Provenance available back to original owner. We are the 3rd. owner. Gas tank dash light comes on when you are down to 2.5 gallons. Signals are manual electric, with a switch under the dash. One of only 285 left-hand drive models made that year, and imported to the U.S.
