*******. ******* This is a 100% rust free 1972 Mercury Marquis Brougham 2 Door Coupe.
Its current mechanical status is not running, however the 429 cid, V-8 engine does turn freely. We got is started with starting fluid a few years back and it ran poorly. At the present time it does not run and is being sold as a project. The engine will need to be overhauled and or replaced..... We do not know the condition of the automatic transmission. We only pushed the car outside our gate to take photos. The brakes stopped fine, the suspension and steering seemed to be in good working order. A fully charged battery was installed to test the electrical systems, power windows, wipers, power seat, turn signals worked properly when tested.
Cosmetically this Marquis looks great!. The paint finish (ivy glamour code 4C) still retains a lovely shine. There are of course normal dings, chips, dent (nose), scratches, front grill broken etc. The overall is appearanceis very nice and the car has a great look! The previous owner did some tasteful upgrades.
The undercarriage is 100% solid and rust free
-Tires raised letter Goodyear show lots of tread remaining....not sure of the age
-The wheels look great!
-Nice seating surfaces and carpet, showing minimal wear and discoloration
-Headliner has a minor rip
-All the chrome trim is present and in good condition (moldings/bumpers)
Due to the age of the vehicle and a five digit odometer we can't verify the 7,049 miles currently registered on the odometer, most likely 107,049
