1971 Mercury Comet GT. I am the third owner. Original owners family restored this vehicle to honor their Grandfather who was the original owner. Car was restored in early 2000's and has less than 3000 miles since restored. Car was built by record holding nhra family with over 28,000 invested on the restoration. Car was an original 6 cylinder car converted to a V8. Motor is a 306 small block ford with 10.5 to 1 pistons, 68 duration cam, ldebrock intake, ooker headers, olley carb, SD ign. Dual exhaust with flowmasters. Trans is a C4 with a mild shift kit and street converter. Rear end is a 8 inch cougar rear narrowed to fit 275-60-15 inch tires. Cars suspension was completely rebuilt and lowered. Wheels are Weld Rod lights.Car was converted to manual disc brakes and has manual steering. Interior was competely redone except headliner which has one small tear.(Was torn by the kids when little and left it like that remember there grandfather. Body was blocksanded 14 times prior to paint in a two stage grabber green paint. Body is straight as an arrow and all gaps are perfect. Car is an original california car and has zero rust. Car drives great and gets lots of attention. Since i have had it i installed new tires, dded a stereo and comet GT stripes. Car comes with original warranty card and owners manual.
