Description:

1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT

This Cyclone was discovered under cover in a quonset hut while cleaning up the Estate of the original Owner. It was purchased new at Rodley Motors in Dunsmuir CA in August of 1966. The Owner parked it under covers sometime in 1989. He continued to register it until 1992 when he filed it Non-op. It has beensympathetically restored back to driving condition. The brake system has been rebuilt and flushed. The original booster was rebuilt. The fuel system components were replaced/rebuilt where needed and flushed. The Radiator was clean and had good Coolant in it. Replaced the thermostat and hoses. Engine block heater core and radiator flushed. Transmission filter changed and fluid flushed. Engine Oil changed before initial start up and once since. Valve cover gaskets were replaced and complete engine tune-up was performed.. Mufflers and tailpipes replaced. Drives very nice the 335hp engine purrs with no noises or smoke and the transmission shifts perfectly. The Body is straight with only a few minor dings ( Pictured). The Paint is original and while thinning shines nicely. There are 2 small cover rubs on the roof (pictured) and two small areas of paint loss below and behind doors (pictured). Light chipping at the front of the rear wheel openings. A few scratches and discoloration here and there and rub spot from the clamp on the CB antenna on the deck lid Normal wear and tear for a car that's almost 50. Trim all present and good with some light pitting on the rear bumper.Interior is very nice. the seats have no tears and aren't thread bare anywhere. There is however 1 1/2" tear in Headliner by left coat hook cannot be seen in picture or at a glance. The aftermarket A/C system was installed by Montgomery Wards in 1972 ( have receipt and warranty card )I have no idea of when the 23 Channel CB was installed. It is period and color matches the Interior. There is no rust or cancer anywhere that I've been able to find (since replacing the mufflers and tailpipes).New period correct BF Goodrich bias ply tires and vintage Autolite battery (Reproduction).Trunk Mat and Cardboard Fillers are the originals. Spare Tire is J.C. Penny's. Jack is Original.I have the Original "Pink Slip " in the Original Owners Name Planned Non Operation Receipt MSRP (window sticker) owners manual & warranty books some receipts many years of registrations and some S & H Green Stamps. All found in the car.Pink slip and CA Transfer Form signed by Executor of Estate When the Cyclone came into my hands the mileage WAS 55963
