Up for sale by a private party is this low mileage, 2-owner, and garage kept 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL (R129) wearing its original red paint. The present owner has had the car for over 11 years and the total mileage is 62,000.

Powering the 500SL is the original 5.0L DOHC (dual overhead cam) aluminum V-8 putting out 315 h.p. and backed by the matching 4-speed automatic transmission. The Benz starts easily and drives smoothly without any noted rattles or squeaks.

The clean Carfax shows no accident history or problems. The paint has some of the usual “age” related chips (see photos), but over all shows well. The power convertible top goes up and down smoothly and the original painted hard top is included. There is no rack or dolly for the top. The soft top is original to the car except for the window section which was replaced. There is no evidence of fading or discoloration. The “wind” spoiler, used when the top is down, is in its case located in the trunk.

The interior retains the factory leather seats and walnut wood finish. All the factory gauges function including the BOSE sound system. The A/C does not work and is believed to need recharging with R134 refrigerant. The 10-way power seats show well except for some wear on the arm rest and a broken seam on the passenger seat. The carpeting and door panels look good. Both owners were non-smokers.

The ‘Benz rides on Michelin Premier 225/55R/16 tires which are approximately 8 years old and driven less than 4,000 miles.

Owner is selling for personal reasons.
