1985 Mercedes-Benz 230E

Never sold in the US, but very popular elsewhere, this gray-market 230E is a combination of the 300-series chassis and the 190E drivetrain. If you like the 300-series style, but don't want the cost of diesel fuel, this is the car for you. Also, because the 300 and 190 were sold in the US, parts are easy to find if you search under those two models.
I bought the car around 2008. It had incredibly low miles at the time (the previous owner had two other, newer Mercedes) and I didn't add too many miles driving it to work once and awhile. Unfortunately, I had to leave the car in storage when I got a job out-of-state and, when the car and I reunited, it wasn't running. My mechanic says it needs a new fuel line to run again as the fuel is leaking on way to fuel injectors. He also noted that the next owner should replace the brake lines for safety, as they are rusted in some areas. Also, I recall from when the car ran that the A/C had stopped blowing cold air.
The interior is in terrific shape. That said, there is a crack down the dashboard (sadly, this is a common issue). Most people "flock" the dash with fabric to cover the crack, an inexpensive fix.

The engine and transmission are solid, so this should not be costly to get back on the road. I am selling because my new house does not have a garage and this classy machine deserves to be stored properly. It's a cool, rare car. Not many come up for sale in the US. Happy to answer questions.
