If you are looking for a great deal on a excellent SL, this car is for you. We purchased this car in 2005 from a local Mercedes Dealer with 35k miles on it or so. I've maybe put 3000 miles on this car in the past 14 years. Car is 100% all original paint in excellent shape! There is one noteworthy defect in the paint and that is a ding in the hood from from a golf ball when I took it to a golf outing a few years ago. The paint isn't damaged and I'm assuming a PDR guy could fix it in no time! Paint thickness is .042-.048...absolutely no paint work, no paint fading, significant scratches, ect. Absolutely no rust, not behind the seats, not under the spare tire... ZERO! Chrome is also excellent!
Interior is excellent and commensurate with mileage. No bolster wear, dash cracks, excellent wood veneers, just in real nice shape...exactly what you'd expect for a 38K mile car! No smoking, excellent rugs, ect. It still has the "blue plastic" on some of the chrome.
The hard top is perfect and the soft top is a new German soft top installed a few years ago ($1800)
Car runs and drives great! No issues! HVAC works the way it should...no rattles, ect.
Tires are in great shape but are about 8 years old.
Service in the past few years include: Engine Mounts, Timing chain rails and guides, various seals and gaskets, brakes, and the speedometer replaced due to it getting stuck at 85mph.
I have the window sticker, maintenance book, owners manual, 3 original keys. Tool kit in plastic bag (opened)
Yes, all the vin stickers are on all the panels, including both fenders, both bumpers, hood, both doors. VIN # on core support. I know plenty about these cars!
This car is a excellent example of a all original unmolested car. The carfax and auto check are fine, but it shows a "rear end collision" in 2001. I acquired a copy of that police report which states the car was "backed into in a parking lot by a Honda Civic" and the police were called and found "no damage to either car". You can call and get that removed by Carfax or at the very least the police report mitigates any diminished value due to the carfax blemish.
Now, if I wanted to sit on the phone with carfax for 3 hours and spend another 3 hours at the PDR place, another day at the detail shop, put the car on a lift and detail the undercarriage...sure...I can get 28-29K for the car all day everyday. However, I have way to many cars and I realized that I buy cars and don't drive them. This car is no exception. I just don't have the time to mess with this stuff anymore. My loss is your gain.
Also, I know how R107 buyers are...I'm not going to go out and take 100 pictures for you. If I wanted 30K for the car that'd be different. I figured I'd throw it up here and somebody who wanted a deal on a real nice low mile 89' and give me a easy sale would love it.
I know the buyers from Germany love these... If you are a exporter, fine. I am open to dealing with CFR or any of these other companies...and international wire transfers are OK.

I also have a 1 owner 6,000 mile 87 560SL Astral Silver Palomino Interior...as delivered...only enough miles on it to keep it running! On all 4 original P6 tires....not inexpensive...but the best! I'll be listing that as soon as the snow melts!
