1980 Mazda RX-7 GT-R

Up for sale is a Japanese market 1990 Mazda RX-7 GT-R that was originally built and used as a demo car by the tuning company Stillway in Himeji, Japan. (Vehicle is pictured in an issue of Hyper Rev) I bought the car in 2020 from Real Muscle Cars Miami of Miami, Florida after they had imported it from Japan. I ran it as I received it for one year before an apex seal failure in the front rotor took it out of commission for one year. I had the engine rebuilt using all factory Mazda parts, Goopy apex seals and a Turblown stud kit. The engine was rebuilt by CaliStyle Rotary of Eau Claire, WI. Many revisions were made during this time, including a change over from an HKS F-Con V-pro piggy back to a Banzai Racing prepared A'pex i Power FC with commander. After getting the car back up and running I trailered it to Banzai Racing of Pierceton, Indiana for a final inspection and a base tune. This allowed me to gently break in the new engine for 1,600km. After the break in period, I returned to Banzai Rotary for a full tune and the car is now making a remarkable 350whp on only 10psi of boost off of purely wastegate spring pressure. This is a solid reliable figure that is well within the capabilities of the ignition and fuel system. With the addition of MSD Boxes and a boost controller, this car can easily make 400+whp. I chose to play it safe. Warning! This vehicle has the oil metering pump deleted. A proper mixture of rotary premix and 91+ octane fuel MUST BE USED AT EVERY FILL UP! This car is an incredible piece of Japanese tuning history, with period correct late 90's aero kit and refurbished Mazdaspeed MS-01 wheels. I have enjoyed my stewardship for the past three years and have decided to part with it to focus on other projects and motorsports.
