1985 Land Rover Defender

This 1985 Land Rover 90 is a left-hand-drive example that was imported to the US from Italy under previous ownership before I purchased it in 2022. A subsequent multi-year refurbishment involved refinishing the chassis, fitment of replacement doors, and a repaint in white with a black roof as well as installation of a 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel inline-four and overhauls of the suspension and brake systems. The truck is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, a locking center differential, Terrafirma shocks, and 16″ steel wheels along with a Mountney steering wheel, a custom stereo system, and front bucket seats trimmed in gray patterned cloth with vinyl sides. This Defender 90 is now offered with refurbishment photos and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name. One of the cleanest you will find with completely issue-free operation.

5-speed manual transmission (LT77) and 2.5l turbocharged intercooled diesel (200TDI) with center locking transfer case (LT230)
Underwent extensive restoration between Feb of 2022 and August of 2023 (body removed from frame) with goal of keeping it relatively original. Hundreds of new parts, clean, and rust free. At a high level:

- chassis stripped and repainted, body repainted. New rear crossmember.- all new brakes (rotors, pads, shoes, drums)- all new fluids- new timing belt, water pump, power steering pump, radiator, intercooler, head gasket- all new doors, internal components, and glass- new windshield- new exhaust- new tires and wheels- new stereo system- sound insulation (Dynamat and Kilmat)- new shocks and springs- new wheel bearings

Replacement drivetrain installed, including low miles engine, transmission and transfer case. Engine underwent a refresh prior to installation.
Upgrades include rear Mantec spare tire holder, electronic speedometer, 4-speaker + subwoofer stereo, USB ports.
