Externally, the new version was recognized for flared fenders, the new bumper design and side skirts, new front air intakes and engine cover, the alloy wheels from 15 instead of 14 inches. As regards the mechanical part, they were improved suspension and braking system. The power of the 1995 cc turbocharged engine with intercooler and went from 165 bhp to 185 bhp by the adoption of a Garrett T3 turbine and a renewed electronic management.This version of the Lancia Delta was presented in October 1987, with the express purpose to participate in the World Rally Championship, the car is a direct evolution of the Lancia Delta HF 4WD car that had participated successfully in the World Rally Championship 1987 and had played, winning them, the first two races of the 1988 season, just waiting for the Lancia racing team, got the approval of the Delta Integrale, achieved only in the course championship, exactly from the 3rd of 11 races on the calendar, the Rally Portugal on 1 March. At year end, then, after a few podiums, it puts an end to the Lancia Delta career in the World Rally Championship.
