Description:

1985 Jaguar XJS XJS

I am selling my 1985 Jaguar XJS V-12 with only 41375 original miles!! This 5.3 liter V-12 produces 262 horsepower and top speed is 150 mph! This car was from an Estate and has perfect paperwork in hand ready to transfer. It has never been smoked in. This vehicle was in a very nice home with a clean dry garage. The car was sitting since 2004 when it's owner passed. His Wife wanted to hang on to the car since it was a special car that Mr. always pampered, stored in the inclement weather and so on. Finally, she decided to move on and I found it. I have owned it for 4-6 months and decided to sell it. The car starts, runs, drives, stops and even the air conditioning still operates!! The motor is strong!! The transmission shifts SUPER! The car is rust free and that is very important!! There is ZERO rust in the floor boards, rockers ect. The car is original paint!! Not many of those around. The paint has not been polished in over 12 years so it has the haze you see in the pictures from that. I have taken this car on the highway at 65 miles per hour for 10 miles and around town for another 15 miles. It is amazing how nice it drives for being in storage for 13 years. I'm sure it was started up once in a while because the fuel was not stale. The carpets are nice and clean. The leather is a bit dry but in very good shape since it was indoors in the dark for so long. The headliner is great. The wood looks very nice. I love the leather wrapped steering wheel. The radio is aftermarket and the speakers are not producing sound. The air conditioning is still R12 old refrigerant and the compressor still comes on! The heat works very well. The window on the passenger side is not working. The power locks work. The horn, wipers and lights work. Even the original fog lights work. The suspension clunks as if a ball joint or two is bad. The exhaust is all original and sounds very quiet as it should. It goes down the road very nice. Smooth, powerful, graceful like a Rolls Royce or Bentley. I have a new battery in it. I have put a new transmission shifter cable since the original one felt tight. The glass is spotless and streak free. The chrome work is nice and bright as you would expect from such a low miles car. The car needs a bit of tender loving care since it is just waking up from a long hibernation. The tires have great tread and are all matching and don't seem dry rotted from age. The car has the original wheels that are unrestored and in super shape. The brakes are disk brakes and stop the car well. I'm sure they could use a good flush since brake fluid absorbs moisture in the air and it is good to change brake fluid every couple of years. I have no extra fees in my auctions. I will be available to make every step of this auction go smooth. This car is a steal. I have great feedback and plan on keeping it this way so look forward to a successful transaction!! Hagerty Values this vehicle at $9400 and $235 a year for antique insurance based on that value. Ready Auto Transport using your zip code and 14445 for mine will generate your shipping quote.
