This GMC comes favorably optioned powered by the original big block 7.4 liter 454cid v8 motor. A heavy duty TH400 Automatic transmission with a heavy duty Dana 70 dual rear axle with 4.10 gears. Additionally it comes equipped with the Camper special package consisting of heavy duty springs, sway bars, camper plugins, large radiator and HD coolers. The Medium Almond interior is equipped with the upscale SIerra Package trim with factory AC, Factory clock and manual windows. This is an honest California truck with all the original GMC equipment, in other words this is not a restored truck full of cheap aftermarket parts. This was the best you could get in 1983 with all the right options both mechanical and convenience and enough capabilities to still be useful today 40 years later. Cosmetically this truck is in good shape for a 40 year old 1 ton truck. The body is straight with no rust holes. The floors are solid with no rust. The paint shines nicely but is not perfect and has a good patina for its age. There are little dings and dents here and there as to be expected. The original optional chrome bumpers are in great shape. The bed is in good shape, the fenders have no damage.Step inside and the interior is in good shape. It is all original and has not been modifed like many of these trucks have. The dash has a few minor cracks, the seat is in good shape with a small tear on the drivers side. The carpet is in good shape. The original Sierra Classic door panels are in decent shape.Mechanically the truck runs and drives great. It is the original 454 that fires up right away and runs good. The Th400 shifts smooth in all 3 gears as well as reverse. All of the lights work as well as the horn. The tires are ok, but should be replaced sometime in the future. Overall this truck runs and dives like an 83 GMC 1 ton dually should.
