Description:

1960 Ford Other Pickups

1960 Ford 1/2 ton short wheel base flareside F100Has the original 223 cu.in. engine with 1 barrel holley carb.Runs well starts every time. Transmission is column shift three speed. The tires, kingpins, tie rod ends, alum.radiator, hoses and brakes are only a few years old.I have used this as a work truck for several years and it has never failed me.Has 4:11 gears in the rear end so its not super fast but really gets the job done. There are a couple of patches in the frame rails where the rear leaf spring perches are, but it looks like a very good job was done long ago. I welded in some floor panels a few years back and replaced the carpet at that time. Heater works like it should.Wipers work on high only but do work. Wiper switch and heater switch are not in the original location. Electric fuel pump installed underneath truck. Has an inline regulator located near the passenger side fender well. Switch for the pump is located where the old wiper switch would be. Has new 2nd and 3rd gear synchromesh parts installed as well as new old stock counter shaft and roller bearings, this was done a few weeks ago.Transmission shifts well, but should be noted that this is a non syncromesh first and reverse style transmission. Steering box is a bit loose but it is drivable. Brakes work like any 1960 ford with drum brakes. Horn works. The wiring needs a little work. Has a few inline fuses hear and there but have not had anything major happen. Generator light flickers at idle but that seems to be normal. System does charge like it should. I installed a tach when I put the 4:11 gears in just to keep an eye on engine RPM. Air shock in the rear and conventional shocks in the front.Rear leaf springs are in decent shape and have helper springs installed, front leaf springs are a bit weak and should be replaced in my opinion. Bed mounted spare tire can be relocated to stock location if desired. Bed floor is made from heart pine and 1/8 metal strips. Seems to be holding up very well. Custom LED brake lights are installed inside rear bumper. Speedometer was not working when I got this truck and odometer shows 76,577 miles but I am pretty sure that it is not correct or original miles. Doors have no weather seals and that should replaced. Signals and lights work as they should. Interior light has a new lense and also works with the light switch. Passengers wing window is new and has a new seal. Drivers side is original and glass is de-laminated a bit. Truck doors lock like they should with key from passengers side only. There is no access from drivers door to lock it. This was the last year this was done at Ford factories. Paint is not original. There is filler in lower doglegs of front fenders, and a few spots on rear fenders as well. I did install a better radiator support from another truck that was in Wyoming. It took a lot to ship that out to me and I had to do some welding repair on that radiator support as well. Windshield is scarred a bit from previous owners attempt at repairing the wiper blades, and there are some scratches on the inside as well where previous owners tried to scrape ice off the inside of windshield. The defroster tubes are not hooked up but heater blows hot. There are three small holes drilled into glove box door, also previous owners handy work. I think it was for a locking hasp of some sort. I will include some spare parts and the 1960 year of manufacture license plate in the sale. I have been accurate in my description. This a great work truck with a 20 foot paint job. Happy to provide more information and photos upon request. Thank you-
