Description:

1949 Ford Club Custom

The car was built at the Long Beach, Ca. Ford factory and owners lived in California, Utah, Oregon, Washington state and Michigan. The car is an early 1948 build and has a 1948 Ford heater. Told to me by Sam Parker, an officer in the Early V-8 Club of America, the 49 Ford designed heaters weren't available when the 49's were released so the dealers installed 1948 Ford heaters. The engine color is dark blue not bronze, indicating an early build car. The cars color was changed from Sea Mist Green to a 1949 color called Fez Red by Stan Dietz, a renowned vintage Ford body man who then sold it to Ron Thorne of Salt Lake, Utah, a well-known early Ford V-8 car and Woodie collector. Sam Parker of Oregon bought the car from Ron Throne several years later. The car was then sold to Wayne Yoder of Aurora Oregon, who owned the car from 1981 till 2011. The car was then obtained by Randy Hallman a classic car broker who shipped the car from Oregon to Iron Mountain Michigan. The car was purchased by Robert and Sally Oliver. They owned the car approximately 4 years. Robert Oliver bought the car while ill and only drove it for a year or two before passing. The car was then sold to DePere Auto Center in Wisconsin, which is from where I obtained the car in 2015. The motor has since been rebuilt by a renowned flathead expert, clutch replaced, some interior upholstery replaced, fresh Fez Red base coat clear coat paint, Lester 16in bias tires, new Smithy dual exhaust w/highway patrol headers, 3 speed manual, Pertronix ignition w/coil, all original, truly a finished classic Shoebox.
