Description:
1970 Ford Ranchero SQUIRE SURVIVOR ALL ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING
An exquisite 1970 Ford Ranchero Squire survivor with only 53k miles. This Ranchero features the original Medium Ivy Green Metallic exterior over the original knitted Ivy vinyl bench seat interior. Creature comforts include power steering, power brakes and factory A/C. This Ranchero has been kept original with few modifications in order to preserve its authenticity and improve driveability. Take your time and sift through ALL of our photographs of this incredible Ranchero to truly appreciate it's value. Exterior... The exterior of this Ranchero Squire is undoubtedly one of it's most distinct features. As you will see in our photographs, this car shows incredibly well as a survivor car. The Squire trim package on the 1970 Ranchero is a rare package featuring woodgrain vinyl paneling along the sides and tailgate of the vehicle. The Medium Ivy Green Metallic paint you see here is the well preserved original paint and shows minor flaws throughout that do not take away from the overall condition of the car. The grille, bumpers, hubcaps, and surrounding chrome are all believed to be original and show only minor imperfections. The Squire was the top of the four model lines for the 1970 Ford Ranchero. It was aimed at the personal luxury-truck market. Standard on the Squire were deep-pile carpeting, a wood-tone panel on the instrument cluster, a deluxe grille and various other trim upgrades including the woodgrain side paneling found on the exterior of the vehicle. Similar to it's rival, the Chevrolet El Camino, the Ranchero was built on an automotive chassis but with a truck bed where rear seats and a trunk normally were. Rancheros have since been admired for their dual use and flexibility. Interior... The interior of the Ranchero Squire was aimed to appease the creature comforts of the then-modern luxury vehicles while keeping its versatility as a "cruck". This Ranchero features the original Knitted Ivy Vinyl bench seat that shows almost zero imperfections. There isn't a single tear or rip anywhere on the seat, and no signs of sagging foam or worn out springs. The wood-tone panel stretches the length of the dash to the passenger side and shows no wear or damage. All of the gauges are fully functional. The factory original A/C works flawlessly with dual vents for the driver and passenger. Drivetrain/test drive... This Ranchero features the original 351ci Cleveland V8 mated to a C4 Automatic transmission. Upon acquisition of the vehicle, we had the heads redone and engine sealed, as it was runing rough. This includes new pushrods and freshly seated valves upon having the heads redone. The transmission shifts perfectly. The factory A/C works perfectly, the power steering is tight and smooth, and the power brakes stop this Ranchero straight as an arrow. This 1970 Ford Ranchero Squire is a rare survivor car that needs absolutely nothing but to be enjoyed by it's new owner. If you have any questions, feel free to call at any time. We are happy to chat with any and all enthusiasts, and hope to find this Ranchero a new home!
