Description:

1934 Ford Coupe

1934 Ford Coupe

In the early days of hot rodding, the 1934 Ford quickly became the platform of choice for many speed record attempts. Inexpensive and plentiful, it also possessed a frame with high torsional rigidity that could withstand the ever-increasing output of the flathead, and overhead valve V-8 engines that were developed in the early 1950's

We've come a long way baby from the 1950's and this car could be seen in the dictionary under hot rod. A Modified (strengthened) rolling chassis that has been upgraded, a painted fiberglass body, and an engine that attracts attention when it's not even running. A meticulous build by a consigner that one can tell it is a labor of love to produce his custom cars. Careful, reading on... you may get you hooked!

Exterior
Hot Rod Black painted over an all fiberglass body, which will allow for waxing and buffing with no scratching. Absolutely a quality fiberglass body as gaps are very consistent, and everything is smooth as silk. Seen is a 6" chopped roof. This beautiful body sits atop a rolling chassis that has been boxed, and extra tubes added to withstand extra extra horsepower. Custom American Racing Wheels show up as 20x15's on the rear, and 18x6's on the front. All weather radials wrap these custom wheels, and a view from the back of the car can only be described as "phat". Suicide doors are seen and have an automatic pin locking system that actuates when the car is started, this is to prevent you from literally blowing the doors off this car. As for the competition, there are no guarantees that this will not happen to them.

Interior
Absolutely all custom tweed with a split back bench, and Speed harnesses. Door panels show the gorgeous tweed as well. A wonderfully grained rounded corner burl graces the dash, and the center console. Auto Meter gauges throughout display the vitals, and even a stretch of gauges run across the top of the front headliner. This interior is not only functional but comfortable as well, it has heat and AC. A B & M shifter sits proudly into the nook in the bench seat, and within the burl in the console. Power windows, and power locks are also added creature comforts.

Drivetrain
Hold on to your hat and here we gooooooo! A Big Al's Motor created from a Dodge Dart block now a 383 Stroker, with a roller cam, a 671 Blower, and drinks from (2) 750 Double pump Holly's.
Consigner states that this motor has dyno' d out at 700 HP. Couple this with a rebuilt turbo 350 to handle up to 1000 HP and throw in a Manual Valve Body and a stall converter and you are ready to light the tree and then the tires.

Undercarriage
A Mustang II front suspension, and a 4-link rear coupled to a 9-inch Ford True lock post with 3.55 gears. A 3" tube allows the exhaust to travel through Flowmaster mufflers and end up going to the outside world via Nascar tips. A Wilwood brake system with an Aeromotor pump will allow you to hit the hooks, (4 discs) and await your competition to finally show up!

There are Hot Rods, and then there are HOT RODS. This example is the latter, with a top quality build, using top quality materials, and producing an over the top vehicle. Consigner stated 1,289 Miles and the engine gets serviced (ie torn apart) each year, with new gaskets, and a complete once over. Just to hear this car will bring a smile to your face and driving it will bring a kick to your butt.
