Description:
1968 Ford LTD
This is a VERY original one owner (maybe 2) 2 door LTD. I was told it was in storage for 35 years, and it looks it. It is a 302 2v. It has 119k original miles on it. I did get it to run, but only for a few seconds, because I saw that gas was running out of the front of the Carb. It sounded good for the 15 seconds it ran! I was not able to test the trans. I was told It was parked 35 years ago, because the original owner got too old to drive. There are no brakes at the moment. The reservoir is empty, I am going to fill it to see what happens, but I would say to count on no brakes, if it is going to be shipped. Even though the body is solid, the frame needs to be repaired. If you know these cars, you know it is a very common thing, for the straight parts of the frame, that run behind the rockers, to rust out. The frame our 1968 Ford wagon, broke in 1977! It is a pretty straight forward thing to fix, and just about anyone with a welder can do it, because it is a straight section of frame. The front and rear boxes, look ok, and the passenger's side only has one hole, that I see. (There are pictures of the bad front section, left and right) The other underside pictures, are of the rear frame boxes, behind the rear door. There is a small hole just before one of the rear bumper brackets too. The trunk floor has some rust, but not too bad. The Jack is there, but the spare that is in it, even though it came with it, isn't the right one. The front fenders look good, as do the doors. The rear quarters need some work at the bottom, but the wheel wells seem fine. ALL 6 courtesy lights work, The headlights and tail lights work. The radio comes on, but the antenna is broken, so it doesn't some in. Only a couple small dings on it, and one small dent in the front side of the driver's side fender, very minor. Over all this is a good solid project car. I only bought it because the guy that had it, said if I didn't buy it, he was going to junk it, so I bought it! I have TOO many other projects to take on another one, but hated to see such an nice original 51 year old car get scrapped! I didn't wash this, or vacuum it, what you see, is how I got it. There is hardly any dirt in the carpet! The carpet is in amazing condition, for a 51 year old car! The interior is in very good condition, except the dash pad, and steering wheel. The door panels look like they are new! I need a $500.00 deposit in 48 hours, and to be paid in full, in 10 days. I have no issue with the car sitting here for a while, while you work out shipping. I can be here to help shipper load the car, as long as I have 24 hours notice. (There are couple days in the next month I am busy, but other than that, any time is fine) I will give you a bill of sale for this, but I do NOT have any other paperwork with it.
