Description:

1979 Ford F-100 XLT

Up for sale is a 1979 Ford F100 Ranger with a 351W 4bbl and AOD transmission. Body is in good condition with some rust on hood, door corners and inside front of bed. I just completely rebuilt the steering column with all new parts. AC works and is still R12. Newly converted to 3G alternator. New HEI distributer and two new electric fuel pumps installed in 2011. Just replaced IGN. Module, cap, coil and rotor recently. Aluminum radiator and inline filter installed 2010. Two marine fuel filters installed 2013. Has dual 2" exhaust with turbo mufflers and performance catalytic converters. Not noisy at all. Just low tone.

Engine: 351W, Edelbrock Performer 5.8L heads, pedestal mount roller tip rockers. Edelbrock Performer 351 intake with EGR. Newly installed Carter 625 cfm carb and Lokar TP cable for transmission. .020 Hypereutectic pistons, all standard size bearings, light rods and nodular iron crankshaft. Reciprocating assembly has been balanced. Stock cam, roller timing chain and gears. It has the one piece rear main seal which is Teflon.

Transmission: Nothing fancy. I purchased it from TCI as built mildly over stock. I recently changed the fluid and changed to a 4R70W pan and 4wd filter. Did some valve body updates and replaced all the servo pistons. It had a "B" OD servo but I replaced it with a "A+" Superservo just because I had it apart.

Rear End: 3.25 open differential installed in 2003 with engine and transmission. Has right at 10000 miles since all this was done.

Interior: Carpet is a little dirty. Seat is clean and is blue cloth. Dash pad has no cracks. Instrument panel is custom designed and printed by myself. I have NOS door seals and never installed them for sale as extra as well as new hood hinges for sale as extra.

Exterior: It has all the chrome that possibly came on the XLT. Paint is bad due to old age clear. This is the second paint job I did on here and I can't do it again.

Brakes: New master cylinder in 2013. Pads on front are good. Will need rear shoes soon. I replaced the power brake booster at some point but failed to write it down. I estimate it is 10 years old.

Wheels: These are 1999 F150 wheels off of my father's truck and are 16”. I beveled the lug holes and used 1" adapters to fit them.

There is no broken glass on vehicle, but the windshield is starting to become delaminated at the bottom. Does not affect view.

I think I remembered everything. If not I will update.

Thanks and good luck.
